EOL Asset DB – Foreign data views

The IT Assets Database was replaced by the IT Admins CMDB and is EOL / End of Life, no further development will be done on this project.

The following two examples in this chapter show you how to view foreign data based on Microsoft SQL views in the application.

In theory, you also could connect any other database based view, assuming your executing workstations have the proper drivers installed and are able to access the database, whether file or server based. In the end, you are only limited to what Microsoft Access can access and use as a table data source. Per default, we only talk about Microsoft SQL server, everything else would be out of scope of any regular implementation.
